The Long-Range View: Aiming for the Right End
🏁 The Long-Range View:
Aiming for the Right End
📖 "There
is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death."
💭 Reflective Devotional Thought
We live in a world of "ways."
We have cultural ways, family traditions, and personal philosophies that
promise success, happiness, or respectability. But today’s message carries a
sobering truth: regardless of how many paths we can take, there is only one
"end" that leads to Life. Everything else—no matter how civil or
respectable it looks on the surface—eventually funnels into the way of death.
It’s easy to be fooled by present
appearances. We see people who seem to have it all together—the
"Solomons" of our world who appear wise and successful—while we might
overlook the "harlot" at Jesus’ feet whose heart is actually aligned
with eternity. God is inviting us to look past the surface and adopt a long-range
view.
The principle is simple: It is what
happens at the end that counts. If we want our lives to produce what God
produces, we cannot just follow "any old way." We must intentionally
choose the Way of God. This means our "unspoken directive" every
single morning must be to Seek first the Kingdom of God. Don't get
distracted by who looks more credible or respectable right now. Aim for the
Kingdom. Focus on the fruit you want to see at the finish line, and let God
direct your steps today.
🙏 A Heartfelt Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your
Word which is a lamp to my feet. Forgive me for being deceived by appearances
or for following ways that seem right to my own eyes but lead away from You.
Grant me a long-range view of my life. Help me to prioritize the things that
matter for eternity rather than just what looks good today. I choose Your Way.
I seek Your Kingdom first. Lead me on the path that produces Life. In Jesus’
name, Amen.

Call to Action
The "Fruit Forecast." Take a
moment to look at your current habits and priorities. Ask yourself: "If
I continue on this specific path for the next ten years, what will it produce
at the end?" If the answer isn't "the Kingdom," make the
adjustment today. Choose one area of your life to realign with God's way this
week.
