🚀 Ground Control to Grace: When Life Feels Like Another
Planet
📖 "Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a
weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me."
— Psalm 131:2, NKJV
💭 Reflective Devotional Thought
Have you ever woken up
and felt like you suddenly landed on Mars? Sometimes life
shifts so abruptly—through a sudden loss, a global crisis, or even just an
overwhelming Tuesday—that the atmosphere of your world feels completely alien.
The air feels thin, the landscape is unrecognizable, and you feel like you’re
walking in a gravity you weren't built for.
In those
"Martian" moments, our souls tend to go into panic mode. We scramble
for answers, we over-analyze the "why," and we let our inner noise
drown out our peace. But the Lord is standing right there in the dust with you,
saying, "I am still here." While your environment has
changed, your God has not. He is the one constant in an ever-shifting universe.
He is the same today as He was yesterday, and He will be the same forever. He
isn't shocked by your new "terrain." The secret to surviving these
alien seasons isn't to build a new life by your own strength, but to quiet your soul. Like a child resting against its mother,
you can be still even when the world outside is unrecognizable. Take a deep
breath: this season is a transit point, not a destination. This too shall pass.
🙏 A Heartfelt Prayer
Lord, I admit that today
feels completely foreign to me. I feel out of place and overwhelmed by the
changes around me. But I thank You that You are the Constant Professional of my
soul. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I choose to quiet my
restless thoughts and lean into Your presence. Thank You for being right here
with me on "Mars." I rest in the truth that this season is temporary,
but Your love is eternal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
✅ Call to Action
Practice
"Soul-Stillness." Today, when the "alien" feeling of your circumstances starts
to rise, find a chair and sit for three minutes. Close your eyes and repeat the
phrase from Psalm 131:2: "I have calmed and quieted
my soul." Remind yourself of one thing about God that has never
changed (His kindness, His power, His presence) and anchor yourself to that
truth.
