🧗 Look Up: Escaping the Illusion of the Well
🧗 Look Up: Escaping the Illusion of the Well
📖 "For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5, NKJV
💭 Reflective Devotional Thought
Have you ever felt like life has become
a "deep well"? It’s that heavy, claustrophobic feeling where the
walls are closing in, the air feels thin, and the exit seems miles above your
head. In those dark moments, your emotions tell you a convincing lie: You
are trapped, and you are entirely alone.
But today, the Lord is gently correcting
your perspective. He is saying, "That is not the truth." The feeling
of being in a well is often just a trick of the shadows—a result of looking
down at the damp floor of your circumstances rather than looking up at the
light. The reality of your situation is not defined by how you feel, but by Who
is standing next to you. Whether you feel a "goosebump" presence or a
cold silence, the promise of Hebrews 13:5 stands firm: He will never
leave you.
He is with you right now to show you the
way forward. The path out isn't found by analyzing the dirt at your feet; it's
found by lifting your gaze. When you stop obsessing over the "walls"
of your problem and look up into the face of your Father, the illusion of the
well begins to shatter. You aren't stuck in a pit; you are on a journey with a
Guide who has already mapped out your escape.
🙏 A Heartfelt Prayer
Lord, I thank You that Your truth is
higher than my feelings. Forgive me for believing the lie that I am alone or
trapped in this season. I choose right now to stop staring at my problems and
to start looking at You. Thank You for being my constant companion and my way
out. Even when I can’t feel You, I trust that You are leading me forward. Amen.

Call to Action
The "Vertical Gaze" Challenge.
Every time you feel a wave of anxiety or "stuckness" today,
physically tilt your head upward. Take three deep breaths and declare out loud:
"I am not alone; my God is with me." Practice shifting your
focus from the horizontal (your problems) to the vertical (His presence) until
your peace returns.
