The Divine Prompt: The Power of Reaching Out
📖 "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the
name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
— Colossians 3:17, NKJV
💭 Reflective Devotional Thought
Have you had someone on your mind
lately? Perhaps it’s a person you’ve admired from afar, a potential mentor, or
someone you’ve simply felt a nudge to get to know better. Often, we dismiss
these thoughts as mere coincidence or tell ourselves we’ll "do it when the
timing is better."
But today, the Lord is giving you a
gentle but firm push: "Do not put it off any longer." When we feel a
consistent urge to connect with someone, it is often the Holy Spirit
orchestrating a "divine appointment." We tend to hesitate because of
fear—fear of awkwardness, fear of rejection, or the lie that we are too busy.
However, God reminds us that this connection isn't just a social whim; it is
something that will be good for you and for them.
Living "in the name of the Lord
Jesus" means being attentive to His prompts in our relationships. Your
simple "hello" or invitation for coffee could be the very thing that
opens a door of encouragement, wisdom, or partnership that God has been
preparing. Don't let another day pass by wondering "what if." Trust
the urge, make the move, and watch how God moves through your willingness to
reach out.
🙏 A Heartfelt Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the
people You place in my life and on my heart. I ask for the courage to follow
through on the prompts You give me to connect with others. Forgive me for
letting busyness or fear keep me from building meaningful relationships. I want
to do everything—including my social interactions—in the name of Jesus. Bless
the connection I am about to make, and let it be a source of mutual
encouragement and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Right now, before you move on to your next task, send that message or make that
phone call to the person you’ve been thinking about. It doesn’t have to be a
long or perfect speech. A simple, "Hi, I’ve had you on my mind lately
and would love to get to know you better. Could we grab a coffee or chat
soon?" is all it takes. Trust the urge and take the step!
