Standing Firm When the Ground Shifts
📖 "Therefore
whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise
man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came,
and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was
founded on the rock." — Matthew
7:24-25, NKJV
💭 Reflective Devotional Thought
Have you ever woken
up and felt like the world shifted while you were sleeping? Perhaps your
surroundings look the same, but internally, everything feels "off."
You feel like a stranger in your own life—unsettled, out of sync, and
navigating a landscape that feels entirely foreign.
God often moves us into new spiritual seasons that feel unfamiliar. This shift can be subtle—a quiet change in your desires or priorities—or it can be jarring, like a sudden storm that upends your routine. In these "in-between" spaces, it is easy to feel vulnerable. When the landmarks of your old season disappear, you might wonder where you fit in.
🙏 A Heartfelt Prayer
Heavenly Father,
thank You for being the one constant in my life. When my world feels unfamiliar
and the seasons shift beneath my feet, help me to remember that I am Yours. I
choose to stop looking at the "foreign" surroundings and start looking
at the Solid Rock. Give me the strength to hold onto Your spiritual truths when
things feel jarring. Thank You for being my foundation and my home, no matter
where You lead me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
✅ Call to Action
Identify your
"Rock." Write down three unchanging truths about God’s character
(e.g., He is faithful, He is a provider, He never leaves). When you feel
overwhelmed by the "unfamiliar" today, look at that list and remind
yourself that while your season is changing, your Foundation is secure.
